Before you arrive

Preparing for your retreat

None of this is compulsory — guests arrive straight from espresso and deadlines and still have a wonderful week. But a gentle two-week glide into the fast makes the first days easier on your body, so here is the rhythm we suggest.

Two weeks out

Start the gentle taper

  • Begin easing off caffeine — step down gradually (coffee to green tea to herbal) rather than stopping overnight, and most of the withdrawal headaches never happen at all.
  • Cut back on alcohol, and start letting go of processed food and refined sugar.
  • Drink more water than usual — arriving well-hydrated makes the first days noticeably smoother.

One week out

Lighten the plate

  • Shift your meals towards plants: more vegetables, fruit and whole grains, less meat, dairy and anything fried.
  • Keep portions a little smaller in the evenings, and keep the water going.
  • If you smoke, this is a kind week to cut down — many guests use the retreat itself as the stopping point.

Two to three days out

Almost there

  • Eat mostly plants now — soups, salads, smoothies, steamed vegetables. Think of it as meeting the juices halfway.
  • Ease off intense exercise; gentle walks and stretching are plenty.
  • Caffeine and alcohol are ideally at zero by now — the fast lands far more softly this way.

The day before

Pack and wind down

  • Keep it a light eating day and have an early night before you travel.
  • Pack loose, comfortable clothes with layers for cool evenings, swimwear, walking shoes, sun protection, a refillable water bottle — and a journal, if you keep one. Bring any medication you take, and make sure it's listed in your booking details.
  • Confirm your arrival plan: check-in is between 4 and 7 pm, pick-up in Lagos is always free, and Faro transfers are arranged in advance.

Arrival day

Travel light, arrive easy

  • Eat lightly on the way — fruit is perfect — and keep drinking water, especially if you're flying.
  • Aim to arrive between 4 and 7 pm. You'll be shown to your room, have your welcome check-in with the team, and your programme begins that evening.
  • From here, the only job is to let the week do its work.

A note on health

The retreat is a complementary, non-medical environment. If you have an existing condition or take regular medication, check in with your own doctor before changing anything — and make sure it’s noted in your booking details so our team arrives prepared for you, too.
